Safety at FoundrKids
Is AI safe for kids? In FoundrKids, safety is the architecture.
AI is safe for kids when safety is built into the product itself — not bolted on afterward. That is how ForgeAI is built: every message is screened in both directions, so what your child writes is checked before it ever reaches the AI, and every reply is filtered before your child sees it. The whole product is built COPPA-aligned, and you can read every conversation your child has — anytime.
This page explains exactly what that means — in the detail a cautious parent deserves.
Screened Both Directions
What happens to every message?
Both sides of every conversation pass through safety checks your child never sees — and can't switch off.
Before it reaches the AI
Every message your child writes is screened before it ever reaches the AI — with stricter limits for younger kids. A 7-year-old and a 14-year-old are not held to the same bar; the younger the child, the tighter the screen.
Before your child sees a reply
Spark's replies are filtered before your child sees them: no links, no contact info, no outside chatter. What comes back is coaching on the mission at hand — Spark is a mission-scoped coach, not an open chatbot.
If something serious comes up
A serious safety concern ends the session immediately and is queued for human review. No second chances for a conversation to drift — the session is over, and a person looks at what happened.
That's the whole principle: nothing your child writes goes in unchecked, and nothing Spark says comes out unfiltered.
No Open Internet
A walled garden, on purpose
Most of what worries parents about kids online is other people online. In FoundrKids, there aren't any.
No kid-to-kid messaging. Your child talks to Spark about their mission. There is no way to message another child, and no way for anyone to message yours.
No friends or follows. No follower counts, no friend requests, no social pressure dressed up as features.
No public feeds. Nothing to scroll, no audience to perform for, no comments from strangers.
No ads. Your subscription is the business model. Nothing in the app is trying to sell your child anything.
No data resale. Your child's data is not a revenue stream. It is never sold.
Who your child is actually talking to
Spark is a mission-scoped coach, not an open chatbot.
Your child doesn't open FoundrKids to chat. They open it to build. Every session is scoped to the mission at hand: design the room, draw the cover, pitch the invention, ship it to the portfolio.
Build, don't binge — it's the design rule the whole app follows.
Full Visibility
What can you see and control?
Everything. Not a curated slice — everything.
"Nothing your child does in FoundrKids is hidden from you."
That's not a settings toggle. It's how the product is built.
Read every conversation — anytime. Not summaries or highlights chosen for you: every conversation your child has, in full, whenever you want to look.
A monthly learning summary. What your child built and practiced this month, in plain language, without you having to dig.
Cancel anytime from your parent dashboard. Your child keeps their portfolio — the work stays theirs.
Two accounts, one owner. Parent and child accounts are separate, and the child account is instantly revocable from yours. If you ever want it off, it is off — instantly.
The Law, Translated
COPPA, in plain language
COPPA — the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act — is the U.S. federal law that governs how online services treat children under 13. Strip away the legal language and it asks four things of a company like ours. Here's each one, and what ForgeAI does about it.
The law requires
Get verifiable parental consent first
Before collecting personal information from a child under 13, a company needs a parent’s knowing, verifiable consent — not a checkbox a kid can click through.
Parent consent is required and permanently recorded before any child profile is created. The order is deliberate: you create the parent account, you give consent, and only then can a child profile exist. There is no path where a child signs up first.
The law requires
Collect the minimum
Collect only the data actually needed to run the service. Nothing extra, nothing “just in case.”
We store no personal details about your child beyond a username, an age range, and a birth year. No real name, no email, no photos, no location.
The law requires
Don’t keep data longer than needed
A child’s information should be kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected.
Conversations are automatically deleted after 90 days. It happens on its own — there is nothing to request and no deadline for you to remember.
The law requires
Give parents review and deletion rights
Parents have the right to see what has been collected about their child — and to have it deleted.
You can read every conversation your child has — anytime. Parent and child accounts are separate, the child account is instantly revocable from yours, and conversations delete automatically after 90 days regardless.
The result: ForgeAI is built COPPA-aligned, with separate, instantly-revocable parent and child accounts — the consent, the data minimums, and the deletion clock are part of the architecture, not a policy PDF.

Is AI safe for my kid?
It depends entirely on how the AI is built. FoundrKids is built for kids first: every message your child writes is screened before it ever reaches the AI, with stricter limits for younger kids, and every reply is filtered before your child sees it (no links, no contact info, no outside chatter). And you can read every conversation your child has, anytime.
What data do you collect about my child?
We store no personal details beyond a username, an age range, and a birth year. Conversations are automatically deleted after 90 days. There are no ads and no data resale — your subscription is the business model.
Can I see what my child talks about with the AI?
Yes, all of it. You can read every conversation your child has, anytime, from your own parent account. Nothing your child does in FoundrKids is hidden from you. You also get a monthly learning summary of what they built and practiced.
What happens if something goes wrong in a conversation?
A serious safety concern ends the session immediately, and the conversation is queued for human review. And because you can read every conversation anytime, you can always see for yourself exactly what was said.
What is COPPA, and does ForgeAI comply?
COPPA is the U.S. federal law protecting the privacy of children under 13 online. It requires verifiable parental consent before data collection, minimal data collection, and gives parents the right to review and delete. ForgeAI is built COPPA-aligned: parent consent is required and permanently recorded before any child profile is created, we store no personal details beyond a username, age range, and birth year, and conversations are automatically deleted after 90 days.
Can my child talk to other kids on FoundrKids?
No. FoundrKids is a walled garden: no kid-to-kid messaging, no friends or follows, no public feeds. Your child talks with Spark (a mission-scoped coach, not an open chatbot) about the mission they are building.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Parent and child accounts are separate, and the child account is instantly revocable from your parent account. Conversations delete themselves automatically after 90 days regardless. And because we store no personal details beyond a username, age range, and birth year, there is very little to delete in the first place.
